About David W. Craig

Family ties are strong in the foothills of Mount Rainier, where David paints and raises his two young daughters on a small farm in a land as alive as it is beautiful. Enrolled Chippewa (Ojibwa), the Craig family travels throughout the Western United States enjoying Tribal gatherings, powwows, art shows, horseback riding, hiking, camping, & fishing in our open spaces.

David began private art lessons at the age of nine. He continued his passion for painting by earning a degree from the Seattle Art Institute and as a freelance artist to national parks, corporations and area businesses. He uses his free time to develop a style of drawing filled with spirit and imagination. Best known for watercolor, David also reaches out in mixed media, sculpting, drum making and painting, acrylics, leatherwork, charcoals, restoration and custom frame building. Commission requests are always welcome.

He left his freelance work to create full time, weaving together stories, emotions and moments in time with color and a vibrant sensitivity that speaks to viewers of his art. Story telling is the beauty of his vision—touching the spirit of his subjects as well as his audience. David finds inspiration in all the things with which the Creator has blessed us.
